SALISHAN
While working at Torti Gallas & Partners, Cindy Schneider had the opportunity to spend five years as Project Architect, Project Manager, and Planner for the design of this 2,000-unit community on 180 acres of land. Located in Tacoma, Washington, on a hilly site, the community also had a salmon-supporting stream running through it. Thus, a major thrust of the project was creating a Low-Impact Development, in which 91% of all stormwater was absorbed on-site.
